Comprehensive Secondary School, Mgboshimini Port Harcourt, Nigeria

22nd July, 2024

We are thrilled to share the highlights from our first outreach event at Comprehensive Secondary School Mgbosimini! It was an inspiring day dedicated to addressing the critical issue of period poverty. Under the theme “Pad Her with Kindness” we distributed sanitary products to the incredible girls at the school and had heartfelt conversations about menstrual health and empowerment.

Government Girls' Secondary School Orominike

8th November, 2024

EmpowHERing the next generation! We had the privilege of distributing menstrual products to over 350 amazing girls. The energy was contagious, and the students were full of joy and positivity. A huge thank you to Dr. IB for sharing insights on period poverty and menstrual hygiene. The heartfelt testimonials from the girls at the end of the day were beyond inspiring!

Community Secondary School Ogale, Eleme

30th January, 2025

Our first outreach of 2025. we empowered over 300 girls with essential menstrual health education and pad distributions.
From insightful discussions on period poverty to interactive Q&A sessions, these girls showed incredible eagerness to learn. Taking notes, asking questions, and sharing their own experiences.

Community Secondary School, Abuloma

27th June, 2025

Delivering menstrual health education and distributing pads to over 200 girls. We had open conversations and shared laughter. It was a day of learning, unlearning, and empowering young girls to own their cycle with confidence and pride.

Pitstop Community, Lagos State

5th October, 2025

Kicking off our International Day of the Girl Child celebrations in Lagos!  We spent the day with a vibrant cycling community that empowers children from rural areas to ride with confidence. Together with The Super Medics Initiative, we reminded every girl that your period should never stop you from cycling, learning, or chasing your dreams. We held an engaging menstrual health talk, distributed free pads, and copies of our book Periods, Pads & Proud to the young girls.

Community Secondary School, Rumuomoi

13th November, 2025

Another beautiful day of empowering girls at Community Secondary School, Rumuomoi. We spent the day equipping girls with knowledge, support, and the tools they need to manage their periods with confidence. Every smile reminded us why this work matters. 

Odomola Snr Secondary School, Epe, Lagos

15th January, 2026

Our first outreach of 2026 and what a way to start. ✨


At this stop, we spent the day with 700 incredible girls. The energy in the room was unreal.

Government Secondary School, Atekong, Calabar

13th February, 2026

The launch of The EmpowHER Project’s Calabar chapter began with a powerful first outreach focused on education, empowerment, and community impact. We engaged students in insightful discussions on menstrual and environmental health while providing practical support and resources to encourage healthier and more confident lifestyles. The success and impact of the outreach drew attention from the wider community and earned us recognition on local news, making the event a memorable step forward for the organization.

Chokmah College, Port Harcourt

23rd February, 2026

Chokmah showcased the impact of empowerment in action as one of our former beneficiaries returned to her secondary school to lead a menstrual and environmental health awareness session, equipping students with knowledge, confidence, and practical health education.

GSS Jabi, Abuja

12th March, 2026

At GSS Jabi Abuja, The EmpowHER Project hosted an impactful outreach focused on sustainable menstrual health education, creating a safe and engaging space for students to learn, ask questions, and gain confidence. Through meaningful conversations, educational support, and the distribution of essential resources, we empowered young girls with practical knowledge to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

St. Cyprians Special Science Secondary School, Enugu

29th May, 2026

Our outreach at St. Cyprian’s Special Science Secondary School, Enugu, marked The EmpowHER Project’s first impact initiative in Enugu State. A significant milestone in our journey of reaching and empowering young girls across Nigeria. The session focused on menstrual health awareness, self-care, and confidence-building, encouraging students to challenge stigma and embrace healthy conversations around their wellbeing. Expanding into a new state represented more than growth; it symbolized the increasing reach of a movement committed to empowering girls through education and support.

26th July, 2024

The founder of The EmpowHER Project gave an award to the best Science students in Famvar International School.

Community Secondary School Abonnema (Snr)

3rd December, 2024

In true EmpowHER fashion, we delivered an impactful talk on period poverty and the importance of proper menstrual health management. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the girls made the session even more rewarding. Their eagerness to learn and grow was inspiring!

Community Secondary School, Ogbakiri

28th May, 2025

On Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, we gathered with amazing students to break the silence around periods, share knowledge, and empower young girls.
From open conversations to hands-on activities, we reminded every girl that periods are powerful not shameful. We distributed reusable menstrual pads to support safe, sustainable period care.

Community Secondary School, Olanada

11th July, 2025

We engaged over 160 girls in an interactive session on menstrual health, confidence, and care. We distributed free reusable pads, busted common period myths, and created a safe space where girls felt seen, heard, and celebrated. Another powerful step toward ending period stigma and keeping girls in school.

Community Secondary School, Isiokpo 

8th October, 2025

Celebrating International Day of The Girl Child with over 500 amazing secondary school girls. Through laughter, learning and open conversations about menstrual health, we shared pads, stories and smiles. Every girl deserves to feel confident, empowered and proud every single day. This day and everyday we remind girls that we stand for them, with them and because of them!

GSS Life Camp, Abuja

13th November, 2025

Kicking off our Abuja chapter!! Our first ever outreach in the state. Together, we learned, laughed, and empowered young girls to feel informed, supported, and proud. In true EmpowHER fashion we distributed copies of our menstrual health guide, gave the most inspiring menstrual health talk and of course distributed reusable sanitary pads to all the girls at the outreach. Here’s a little window into our big moment.

Nazareth College Secondary, Ibadan

15th January, 2026

Our first outreach of 2026 was truly a powerful day of learning, laughter, and empowerment. We created a safe, vibrant space where the girls could ask questions, share experiences, and grow in confidence. The energy, excitement, and openness in the room reminded us why this work matters and why empowering girls will always be at the heart of The EmpowHER Project.

16th February, 2026

We carried out a menstrual health outreach and reusable pad sewing workshop in Rivers State, reaching and empowering young girls through education and practical skills. Students were taught about menstrual health, hygiene, and body confidence in a safe and open environment. In the sewing workshop, 30 girls learned how to make their own reusable sanitary pads, providing them with a sustainable solution to manage their periods with dignity. Reusable menstrual products and copies of Periods, Pads and Proud were also distributed, ensuring the girls left not only informed, but equipped and empowered.

Davesbell International School

28th February, 2026

During Davesbell International School’s inter-house sports day, The EmpowHER Project reminded young girls that their periods should never stand in the way of their dreams, talents, or participation. In the middle of the excitement and competition, we created space for important conversations around menstrual health, confidence, and self-belief. Encouraging every girl to show up boldly, on and off the field.

GGSS Kofar Wambai, Bauchi

20th May, 2026

Our first outreach in Bauchi State took place at GGSS Kofar Wambai, making it another meaningful milestone for The EmpowHER Project. Beyond the impactful discussions on menstrual health and wellbeing, the outreach was filled with excitement, curiosity, and genuine joy as the students eagerly explored and read through the books we shared with them. Seeing the girls smile, learn, and confidently engage in conversations around their health made the experience both memorable and inspiring.

GSS Ovom, Bayelsa

2nd June, 2026

We have officially reached another Nigerian State with our first outreach in Bayelsa at GSS Ovom. In partnership with the Department of Public Health, Medical University of Bayelsa, the outreach brought together passionate third-year student volunteers and the department’s HOD, reflecting the growing importance of collaboration in advancing menstrual health education. The session focused on sustainable menstrual health, while the interactive Q&A quickly became the highlight of the day, with many girls excited to openly ask questions and learn in a safe space.

We returned to Comprehensive Secondary School to catch up with the girls and distribute sanitary products to manage their next period. Every moment was a reminder of why we started the EmpowHER project.

Together, we broke the stigma around periods and reminded every girl in that room: your dreams are valid, your voice matters, and you are powerful.

The Prime Fa Model Secondary School, Eleme

24th September, 2025

The school year is back in action and so are we! We had the joy of engaging with brilliant and inquisitive boys and girls on the topic of menstrual health. The boys were eager to learn, the girls asked powerful questions, and together we broke taboos and reminded everyone that Periods are important. We distributed free reusable pads and gifted copies of our new book Periods, Pads & Proud. Here’s to another school year of learning, unlearning, and making change.

Olobo Premiere College, Choba

17th October, 2025

In continued commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child, our team collaborated with the University of Port Harcourt Counselling Centre to host an impactful outreach focused on empowering young girls.

During the session, we shared reusable sanitary pads, held an engaging menstrual health talk, and distributed copies of our books to inspire learning and self-worth.

The girls shared how much they enjoyed the program and how it positively impacted their understanding of menstrual health and personal value.

Most importantly, we reminded every girl present that she matters!

GSS Asarama, Andoni

The EmpowHER Project’s visit to Andoni GSS was filled with learning, empowerment, and support. Through menstrual and environmental health education, alongside the distribution of reusable pads and books, we created an experience that informed and inspired young girls.

St. Teresa's College, Ibadan

4th February, 2026

The Start to our Ibadan Chapter St. Teresa's showed us so much warmth. From laughter and learning to meaningful conversations about menstrual health, the energy in the room was beautiful. We shared reusable pads, gifted books, and most importantly, built confidence. Here’s to raising informed, empowered girls, one school at a time. 

Goldstar Premier Academy, Port Harcourt

17th February, 2026

At the start of this inspiring outreach, some girls described periods as “disgusting,” reflecting the stigma many have grown up with. By the end, through honest conversations and education, there was a clear shift toward understanding, confidence, and acceptance. This is why we do what we do! Copies of Periods, Pads and Proud were also distributed to provide continued support and guidance beyond the session.

St. Louis College, Ibadan

4th March, 2026

Our outreach at St. Louis College Ibadan centered on promoting sustainable menstrual health and helping young girls make informed decisions about their bodies and the environment. During the session, students learned about the potential dangers associated with disposable menstrual products, the importance of proper hygiene, and healthier, eco-conscious alternatives. We also shared practical guidance on caring for the body during menstruation, encouraging girls to prioritize comfort, cleanliness, nutrition, and confidence throughout their cycle.

Solace Orphanage, Akwa Ibom

27th May, 2026

Our pop-up outreach at Solace Orphanage, in partnership with the Theresa and Leah Foundation, was a beautiful reminder that young people can create meaningful change. Together with our passionate volunteers, we engaged the girls in conversations around sustainable menstrual health, teaching them how to care for their bodies and properly maintain reusable pads. Beyond the lessons shared, the outreach created moments of confidence, joy, and connection. It also marked our first outreach in Akwa Ibom State.
